Premium multi-radio Cozify Hub
Cozify has created the Cozify Hub that resides at the customer premises and manages the connections to a great variety of connected devices. The device has WiFi, Bluetooth LE, ZigBee, 433 MHz ISM band and Z-Wave (hw ready) radios. With this it is possible to satisfy the demands of the sophisticated consumer that doesn’t want to be restricted by the available protocols and manufacturers. It is also very efficient way to run customer pilots in order to learn about the feature / target group fit and business models.
Embedded smart home in a router
The Cozify Hub software can also be embedded in a router or an IPTV set-top box to maximize cost efficiency. In this case the number of radios is typically more limited, but with Wifi and Z-Wave or Zigbee it is possible to cover a wide range of connected devices. This means that the operator can ship smart home capable devices to all consumers as part of their normal CPE renewal process and upsell the smart home functionality. This way it is possible to reach the whole customer base with minimal investment.
Use case examples
Automated lighting
Cozify has an advanced rule engine that can automate lighting in a way that matches the user context. In the morning the lights can be energizing, during the daytime only turn on if it is dark outside and in the evening provide a mellow and warm light. They can also be configured to automatically turn off when people are not there or at pre-set times.
Wake-up
Cozify can be used to wake up the family to the tunes of the favorite playlist or radio channel as the bedroom lights slowly become brighter.
Heating / cooling control
With Cozify it is possible to control heating or AC remotely to make homecoming as pleasant as possible.
Protection of burglaries
The fear of burglary is the biggest reason for feeling insecure at home. A security system that alarms and records video is a good way to make people feel more secure.
Motion and door/window sensors can be used to trigger video recording, notifications and alerts, based on which the consumer can decide what action to take. It is also possible to connect Cozify with a home security service provider who can monitor alerts triggered by Cozify.
